What is it like to live in North Korea?
To be honest, I don't know. Only someone who has been subject to that execrable regime can answer such a question.
But how likely is it that they will be able to respond? Probably, nil.
We take our right to 'vent' for granted.
At LikePlace we allow people from America, Britain and Ireland to rate the places where they live. Without a second thought, you can express yourself on everything from local Law & Order to the Quality of the Environment.
But what if it cost you 10 years in a labour camp?
That's what got us thinking about repressive regimes such as North Korea. We do not expect people from Democratic People's Republic to be able to rate their country in the same way as we can, in our own with liberal democracies.
But we can do something by proxy. We can express our thoughts about Kim Jong Il & his ignoble entourage.
